Awarded the Memorial Award from the American Scientific Glassblowers Society (ASGS). This is an early-career award to a member of the ASGS for their outstanding contributions in ASGS activities such as technical demonstrations, technical papers, and posters. The purpose is to stimulate and encourage active and continued participation in the field of scientific glassblowing. Laruen will receive a spot in the Joseph S. Gregar Junior Member Workshop, an award certificate plaque at the awards banquet and expense reimbursement to attend this year’s national ASGS symposium in Raleigh NC. This award has been named to honor deceased ASGS members whose contributions to the advancement of both the science and the art of glassblowing and the ASGS and who were of outstanding importance.
