The newest class of American Chemical Society (ACS) fellows includes Robert Hamers, a UW-Madison chemistry professor, as well as three UW-Madison chemistry alumni. Hamers is recognized for his numerous contributions to materials chemistry and service to ACS and the chemical community.
New fellows who are UW-Madison chemistry alumni include Steve Corcelli (Postdoc 2002-05, Skinner), Christine Landry-Coltrain (Ph.D. ‘85, Schrag), and Matt Lynch (Ph.D. ‘91, Corn). Corcelli, an associate professor at the University of Notre Dame, is honored for his work with theoretical approaches in the condensed phase and at biomolecular interfaces. Landry-Coltrain is honored for her R&D work with the Eastman Kodak Company in developing novel materials for printing. Lynch is honored for his “work in the crystalline and liquid crystalline behavior of amphiphilic molecules” with The Procter & Gamble Company.
