Graduate Students Li, Dolinar, Kreitler Win Conference Awards

Graduate student Linsen Li, a member of the Jin group, has received a Graduate Student Gold Award from the Materials Research Society. Li was awarded a cash prize and a plaque at the society’s fall meeting in Boston. MRS Graduate Student Awards seeks to recognize graduate students whose academic achievements and current materials research display a high level of excellence and distinction and who show promise for future achievement in materials research.

Two graduate students also received poster prizes at the 2014 meeting of the American Crystallographic Association in Albuqueruque. Brian Dolinar, a member of the Berry group, received the Oxford Cryosystems Low Temperature Prize for his poster titled “Yes, Solvent Molecules Do Matter: Solvatomorphism and Polymorphism of cis- 22-tetrakis (monothiosuccinimidato) dimolybdenum (II).” Dale Kreitler, a graduate student in the Gellman group, received the Pauling Sundaralingam Poster Prize for his poster titled “Quasi-racemic crystallization of backbone modified proteins: Not quite centrosymmetric.”
