Professor Frank Keutsch was recently awarded the Vilas Mid-Career Investigator Award from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The award recognizes exceptional scholarly accomplishments and provides recipients with one year of flexible research support, funded by the Vilas Trust. The Keutsch research group explores the chemistry of the atmosphere to investigate links between aerosols and other airborne compounds and climate change. They combine field observations with laboratory experiments to test and improve the existing atmospheric chemistry models. These analyses are then made available to the wider atmospheric sciences community.
