Etienne Garand, assistant professor of chemistry, is one of three new faculty members to join the department as we begin the 2012-13 academic year. Dr. Garand holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley; he recently completed an appointment as a postdoctoral associate at Yale University. His research focuses on understanding complex chemical reaction dynamics and mechanisms at a molecular level using mass spectrometry, laser spectroscopy, and electronic structure calculations. To learn more about Dr. Garand, read his Q&A at the College of Letters & Science’s News & Notes.
Watch for Q&As with Professors Kyoung-Shin Choi and Trisha Andrew in the coming weeks.
