


Department of Chemistry Celebrates the Class of 2025
On Friday, May 9, 2025, the Department of Chemistry recognized and celebrated the Class of 2025 baccalaureate, master’s, and doctorate graduates. This year, 103 undergraduate chemistry majors, 2 master of science graduates, and 49 doctorate degree earners were included in the celebration.
Participants, faculty, staff, and family filled the John Morgridge Lecture Hall located in the new North Tower. The hall was decorated by the Graduation Planning Committee which added banners and other festive decorations to the room. Photography of the event was provided by Dr. Ilia Guzei. Dr. Guzei is a distinguished scientist and director of the X-ray laboratory at the Department.
Department Chair Sam Gellman gave opening remarks, Academic Advising Manager Katie McCullough introduced the undergraduate section of the program, and Undergraduate Program Director Pam Doolittle announced the baccalaureate chemistry majors. Associate Chair for the Graduate Program Tehshik Yoon announced the masters and doctorate graduates.
A reception following the program was held in the North Tower Attrium.
