WELCOME TO PROFESSOR TIM BERTRAM!
The Department is thrilled to welcome Prof. Tim Bertram as the newest member of our faculty!  Tim has been in transition from his previous faculty position at UC-San Diego during the fall semester and officially joins us for the current semester (teaching a section of Chem 104).  Tim leads a thriving research program in the area of atmospheric chemistry.  Tim's office and research labs are located on the 4th floor of the Daniels building. https://www.chem.wisc.edu/content/assistant-professor-timothy-bertram-jo....

What: International Tax Information Workshop
When: Friday, January 30, 2015   3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Repeated on Tuesday, February 3, 4:30-5:30pm
Where: Masley Media Room, Red Gym
Description: Join ISS as it hosts a representative from UW-Madison's Office of Human Resources for a workshop that focuses on Federal tax filing resources for F-1 and J-1 visa holders. Highlights include: U.S. Tax filing deadlines, determining your tax status, claiming tax treaty, earnings statements and required forms, Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers, and how to access Glacier Tax Prep to complete a nonresident alien tax return.

Tufts University Department of Chemistry is seeking a full-time lecturer to assume a central, long-term role in our undergraduate teaching program. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working closely with talented students and who possesses the ability to explain concepts in chemistry to students with broad educational backgrounds. In addition to General Chemistry, the candidate will also be required to fill teaching needs in Biochemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, and Bioanalytical Chemistry.
Individuals must possess a Ph.D. in Chemistry. Teaching experience is strongly preferred. Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience or interest in pedagogical innovations to enhance the retention of students in introductory level courses. The position will start of September 1, 2015. The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Ray P. Authement College of Sciences, Department of Chemistry invites applications for a tenure track position in Analytical Chemistry at the Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will teach analytical, general chemistry, instrumental analysis and the associated laboratories. The chemist is expected to teach, perform research, and participate fully in other activities of our ACS-Certified department, college, and university. Consistent with these responsibilities, the successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry, research, and postdoctoral experience preferred.
