Financial Support and Fellowships

Graduate students admitted to the Chemistry Graduate Program are provided financial assistance in the form of Teaching Assistantships (TA) or Research Assistantships (RA). The level of support for TA and RA appointments for Fall 2011 will be at least $23,800. Tuition remission is also included.

Various awards are available, including University Fellowships, Advanced Opportunity Fellowships (AOF), Biotechnology Traineeships, Biology Interface Traineeships, and McElvain Awards.

For fellowship consideration, the following application materials and supporting documents MUST be received,

  • On-line application / $56.00 application fee
  • Reasons for Graduate Study
  • Research Interests Checklist
  • Honors, Research, Publications form
  • Official transcripts
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Graduate Record Examination scores - GRE Chemistry Subject score is encouraged, but not required
  • TOEFL score (if native language is not English)
