Adjunct Position in Chemistry for Fall Semester 2016, University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point.
Position Description: A full-time Adjunct position in the Chemistry Department at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point to begin August 29, 2016 and end December 23, 2016. The successful candidate will team-teach CHEM 105 with an experienced tenure-track faculty member during the first one-third of the semester and then take over the course for the remaining two-thirds of the semester.
Minimum Qualifications:
     •    Doctoral Candidate in Chemistry or a closely related field
     •    Demonstrated promise for excellence in teaching

Additional Information About the Teaching Assignment: CHEM 105 is the first semester of a two-semester general chemistry sequence for science majors. The course will have up to 96 students and has lecture, discussion, and lab. Each 50 minute lecture meets three times each week. There are four discussion-lab pairings associated with the lecture. Each discussion= (50 minutes) and lab (2 hrs and 50 minutes) meets weekly and each one has up to 24 students. The instructor-adjunct team will teach the lecture, discussions and one lab together. The adjunct instructor will have a second lab; the other two labs will be taught by other lab instructors. A permanent staff member preps the labs and undergraduate students are usually hired to grade lab reports.
