TRACY DRIER TO RECEIVE THE 2016 CHANCELLOR'S HILLDALE AWARD
Congratulations to Tracy Drier, who has been selected to receive the 2016 Chancellor's Hilldale Award for Excellence in Research for Critical Support. The award is given by the Professional Development and Recognition Committee of the Academic Staff Assembly to recognize outstanding contributions in supporting the research mission of UW-Madison.  The selection committee was extremely impressed with the breadth and depth of Tracy's commitment and innovation through his work as a master glassblower. Congratulations, Tracy!

Associate Environmental Health Specialist, Chemical Safety Specialist. The Department of Environment, Health & Safety/Chemical Safety is recruiting for a Chemical Safety Specialist. This associate level position plays a key role in efforts to promote a comprehensive chemical safety program at UW-Madison. We are seeking a motivated and qualified individual committed to the UW-Madison Chemical Safety Office's goal of ensuring that all work involving hazardous chemicals, both within the laboratories & throughout the university, is performed safely & in compliance will all applicable federal, state & local regulations & standards.
Key duties include inspection of all facilities containing hazardous chemicals, presenting training, consulting with researchers & acting as a general resource for chemical safety issues. Requires an understanding of the hazards associated with the use of chemicals & methods used to mitigate the risk. Starting annual salary is $42,167 minimum, depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits.
