Postdoctoral Position. Department of Chemistry, Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS 66506. Theoretical Nanomaterials Chemistry. A qualified and highly motivated scientist is sought for a postdoctoral position in the Aikens group at Kansas State University (www.ksu.edu/chem/people/faculty/aikens.html). The Aikens group focuses on the application and development of electronic structure theory and related methods for nanomaterials systems. The research scope of the position may include: (1) optical properties of noble metal nanoparticles, and/or (2) interactions of biorenewable molecules with metal oxide nanostructured materials. A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or related fields is required by the time of appointment. A strong background in electronic structure modeling and/or development is preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills in English are required.
