Honoring Emeritus Chemistry Professor and L&S Emeritus Dean Phillip R. Certain
Chemistry Department former chair Phillip R. Certain was honored at the September 11, 2009 Rededication Ceremonies of the Washburn Observatory on campus by having the newly remodeled conference room named in his honor. Phil was recognized for his distinguished contributions and services to UW-Madison. Congratulations Phil!

We seek an outstanding colleague in the area of Synthetic Organic Chemistry. Applicants with interdisciplinary interests extending into bio- or medicinal-related research are welcome. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely-related field and will be expected to develop a vigorous, creative research program that attracts extramural funding and capable coworkers, and to excel in teaching a diverse population at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
