Chemistry Graduate Program Ranked Highly by U.S. News & World Report

Numerous UW-Madison graduate programs are ranked among the nation’s best in the 2015 edition of U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Graduate Schools.”

"UW-Madison offers a wide variety of subjects for our graduate students to study,” says Provost Paul DeLuca Jr. “We’re proud that so many of these graduate programs have once again ranked so highly.”

Not all programs are ranked every year. Chemistry was among the UW-Madison programs ranked this year and was ranked ninth overall. All of UW-Madison's areas of specialization in chemistry also ranked highly:

  • Analytical (sixth)
  • Biochemistry (tied for second)
  • Inorganic (sixth)
  • Organic (eighth)
  • Physical (eighth)
  • Theory (thirteenth)
